Review by hotel critic
Tamarind Hill has its charms, and as a travel writer with a penchant for both beer and beautiful escapes, I found this place striking a fine balance between luxury and value. Nestled within a serene Dutch bungalow setting, the hotel boasts spacious and comfortably decorated rooms that resonate with a classic colonial flair. The welcoming lady at reception set the tone for our stay, and I appreciated the thoughtful touches like complimentary tea and coffee facilities and free toiletries. The outdoor swimming pool nestled in a lush garden offered an oasis of peace without the usual chaos-wonderful for someone like me who relishes tranquillity after a day of exploring. Now, while the breakfast spread was quite generous-think fresh fruits, pastries, and scrumptious pancakes-it's worth noting that dining options could nudge your budget upwards if indulged in nightly. Tamarind Hill delivers a secluded experience with modern amenities like air conditioning and flat-screen TVs. For couples seeking solace and a tad of heritage charm, the value is certainly there-but don't forget to account for those tempting evening menus.
